Celebrate Late Summer with Chilled Whites and Rosés

Light, crisp and refreshing are what many of us are looking for in summer wines. Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoy a full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon with my steak, but there’s nothing like a chilled white or rosé when relaxing with friends on the patio.

Next time you’re in our Uxbridge store, check out our wine selection. We have an appropriately named lineup from Fresh Wines, with options like a Moscato (notes of citrus, peach and floral), not to mention a Riesling-Gewurztraminer with hints of tangerine, ginger and lychee. Their Sparkling Riesling is also a delight – best served ice cold.

How about a light, easy drinking Pinot Grigio? Try Sprucewood Shores, with its bright citrus flavours and clean, smooth finish.

Rosé wines have come a long way in recent years, and we’re offering some interesting labels. Like Megalomaniac. No, not the person obsessed with his or her own power, but a blend of Riesling and Cabernet Sauvignon that delivers ripe cherry notes, and is ideal with grilled fish, chicken and summer salads.

Or Pelee Pink from Pelee Island Winery. Made from the Chambourcin grape, this fruity wine is perfect with spicy and barbecued foods – and dark chocolate.

There’s still more, like Henry of Pelham Rosé, Eastdell Summer Rosé, and I could go on… Or better yet, come see for yourself!
