Ingredients

For the Filling

  • 7 cups blueberries fresh or frozen
  • 1 apple, grated
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp flour

For the Topping

  • 1 & 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • ice cream for topping, optional

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Mix together berries, apple, sugar and flour.
  3. Pour into 8×8″ baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Add butter and fold into the mixture.
  6. Using your hands, combine the dough into a rough ball.
  7. Apply the dough onto the filling.
  8. Bake at 375 for 30-40 minutes or until golden on top.
  9. Top with optional ice cream
