How about a nice rosé for Mother’s Day weekend?

Bunch of roses and two glasses of rosé wine

Canada is home to some of the best wineries in the world, and three popular ones are Peller Estates, Wayne Gretzky Estates, and Trius Winery. Each of these produces a range of high-quality wines, including some excellent rosés. Let’s take a closer look at Peller Wines Rosé, Wayne Gretzky Rosé, and Trius Rosé, and what makes them stand out from the rest.

Peller Wines Rosé:

Peller Wines Rosé is made from a blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot grapes grown in the Niagara Peninsula. It is known for its crisp acidity, bright fruit flavors, and delicate floral aromas. This rosé has a beautiful pale pink color and is best served chilled.

One thing that sets it apart is the winemaking process. The grapes are handpicked and carefully selected to ensure the highest quality, and the wine is made using the traditional saignée method. This involves bleeding off a small amount of juice from the red grapes after they have been crushed, which results in a wine that is lighter in color and has a more delicate flavor profile.

Peller Wines Rosé pairs well with a variety of dishes, including grilled seafood, salads, and light pasta dishes. It is also a great wine to enjoy on its own, making it a perfect choice for a summer day or a relaxing evening with friends.

Wayne Gretzky Estates Rosé:

This rosé is made from a blend of Cabernet Franc, Gamay Noir, and Pinot Noir grapes grown in the Niagara Peninsula. This wine has a beautiful salmon pink color and a lovely bouquet of red berries, citrus, and floral notes. It is a medium-bodied wine with a crisp acidity and a dry finish, making it perfect for a hot summer day.

One of the unique features of Wayne Gretzky Estates Rosé is that it is aged in oak barrels for a short period, which adds complexity and depth. The oak barrel aging also gives it a slightly creamy texture, making it a great wine to pair with grilled meats, seafood, and spicy dishes.

Trius Winery Rosé:

This wine has a beautiful pink color and a refreshing taste, with notes of ripe strawberries and cherries. It is a medium-bodied wine with a crisp acidity and a long finish, making it a perfect wine to pair with a variety of dishes, including grilled fish, chicken, and light salads.

One of the unique features of Trius Winery Rosé is the use of whole cluster pressing, which involves pressing the grapes without crushing them. This results in a wine that is lighter in color and has a more delicate flavor profile, similar to that of Peller Wines Rosé.

So whichever bottle you choose, be sure to chill beforehand – and celebrate with Mom this Sunday.

Happy Mother’s Day!
