At Vince’s, we believe giving back isn’t just good—it’s essential. That’s why, on May 23rd, nearly 40 of our staff and management rolled up their sleeves for the second annual Volunteer Day. With teams from all four stores pitching in, this year’s focus hit close to home: food insecurity in the communities we serve.
“This year, we chose to support the four food pantries serving the communities where we live and work,” said Maria Ciarlandini, Vince’s Community Ambassador. “Through our partnerships with two of these organizations, we’ve gained a deeper understanding of the growing issue of food insecurity impacting individuals and families around us. United as a team, we dedicated our annual volunteer day to giving back—providing hot and cold meals, along with family food packages, to help ease the burden for those facing difficult times.”
Each team brought their own flavour to the day:
- Group #1 members got busy in the Newmarket Food Pantrykitchen, preparing more than 50 individual meals for the Newmarket Community Fridge in front of the library.
- Group #2 transformed the Vince’s Community Room into a packing station, assembling over 30 family food boxes for the East Gwillimbury Public Library Food Pantry.
- Group #3 lent their hands in the same space, boxing up 30-plus food packages for Loaves and Fishes Food Bank in Uxbridge.
- Group #4 took over the oven and counter tops, creating over 50 hot and cold meals for the New Tecumseth Public Library Food Pantry.
The results? Four local food pantries received much-needed support — and our team walked away with a renewed sense of purpose.
Volunteer Day is more than a one-off event. It’s part of who we are. And as long as there are neighbours in need, we’ll keep showing up with open hearts, helping hands, and a few good meals.
