Vince’s teams up with CHATS to raise additional funds for seniors’ services

Sharon, ON, June 29, 2023

The CHATS team was on hand in the parking lot of the Vince’s Sharon store, providing awareness about the challenges faced by our older residents, while marking the halfway point of Vince’s Community Product Initiative – a fundraising campaign that in 2023 will provide much-needed financial support to this life-changing service.

“Many of us have older parents and relatives who may suffer from health, cognitive and/ or mobility issues, yet would like to live in their homes as long as possible,” said Giancarlo Trimarchi, president of Vince’s Market. “It is nice to know there are organizations whose mission is to help make this happen.”

Community & Home Assistance to Seniors (CHATS) is such an organization, and in addition to providing transportation, meals, and caregiver relief, they offer a one- stop-shop of programs and services designed to meet the needs of older adults. CHATS can inspire them to explore the possibilities of aging at home and living more independently, while supporting caregivers, so that they can continue providing compassionate care for their loved ones.

Since the beginning of the year, Vince’s has raised $16,600 for CHATS through their Community Product Initiative (CPI) and an additional $500 from the June 23 barbecue. CPI relies on the support of customers and vendors, setting aside 15 percent of sales
of the designated Community Product to be accrued for that year’s recipient. Since its inception in 2018, CPI has raised nearly $130K for several life-changing organizations, and is expecting big results in 2023 for CHATS.

“I’m thrilled to see so many of our own CHATS clients drop by the BBQ to show their support and share success stories on how our organization has changed their lives,” said Kelly Broome, CHATS Vice President Philanthropy & Communications. “Not only will these funds raised by the team at Vince’s Market help CHATS to support more older adults in our community, but it has also created awareness within the community. Notably within the Vince’s team, learning and sharing their own stories about CHATS.

Be sure to drop into any Vince’s Market store (Newmarket, Sharon, Tottenham, Uxbridge) andconsiderpurchasingtheCommunityProduct. Youwillbesupportingaseniorin your community to live their best life at home and in their community with dignity.”

“Vince’s Community Support is excited that this year we have exceeded the previous year’s midpoint funds raised by our Community Product Initiative,” said Maria Ciarlandini, Vince’s Community Ambassador. “We are truly grateful for the contributions from Vince’s customers!”

Vince’s would also like to thank Maple Leaf, Pillers, Wonder Bread, and Arla for their contributions to the June 23 event.
