Valentine’s Day Dining Made Easy at Vince’s

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner – that one day a year when we can make up for not being the next Jamie Oliver. If you’re like me, and may not be pulling your weight in the kitchen, it’s our time to shine and perhaps score a few brownie points.

So, you’re not exactly a chef? No worries! Here’s a sneaky plan: head over to our Prepared Foods section. Grab a yummy barbecued chicken, a tray of grilled veggies, and don’t forget the roasted potatoes. Just carve and arrange the chicken on a nice platter, toss the veggies and potatoes into some colourful bowls. Then quietly hide those recyclable containers deep in your blue bin. Pop open a bottle of wine, and voila!

Okay, some might call it cheating, but hey, it’s better than a Valentine’s dinner disaster. But if you’re feeling adventurous, why not actually cook something? Like our adorable heart-shaped pasta. Top it with one of our Vince’s Own sauces – they’re not homemade, but close enough. Open a Chianti or Pinot Noir, and you’ve got yourself a romantic dinner.

Now, if you’re into something a bit fancier, my wife and I are partial to a good salmon fillet. When it’s cooked just right, it’s like butter – seriously, you could spread it on a cracker. This week, we’re featuring Verlasso salmon. It’s sustainably farmed, no hormones or antibiotics, and fed a clean diet within the chilly Humboldt current off the coast of Chile.

Pair your salmon with some spiralized veggies (a fun twist on pasta, and healthier too!) topped with one of our sauces. Now uncork a Pinot Noir or Chardonnay, and you’re in for something special.

And don’t forget our bakery. There’s no shortage of sweet treats to cap off your meal, like a Dufflet heart-shaped cake (chocolate fudge or pink velvet) or Fraktals buttercrunch – which is highly addictive.

Remember, there are as many ways to whip up the perfect Valentine’s Day meal as there are loving couples. So, take a stroll through our aisles, and perhaps even have a chat with one of our staff for inspiration.
