Over the past nine years, Vince’s has proudly partnered with The Grocery Foundation in their annual effort to combat child hunger. This year, the initiative took on a fresh identity, rebranding from “Toonies for Tummies” to Make Happy Tummies — but its mission remains unchanged: to help nourish the 1 in 3 children at risk of going to school on an empty stomach.
Vince’s joined nearly 1,700 grocery retailers across Canada in supporting this cause. Over the past seven years, the initiative has provided more than 10 million healthy meals nationwide, ensuring that children have access to the proper nutrition needed for their well-being, mental health, and academic success.
During the 2025 campaign, Vince’s raised $6,320, adding to a total of $44,320 since they began participating. Every dollar donated goes directly to local stigma-free breakfast programs, managed by Student Nutrition Ontario and the Breakfast Club of Canada. These programs provide essential meals to children in need, ensuring they start their school day with the fuel to learn and thrive.
Beyond the two-week campaign, Vince’s also made an impact through its Community Product Initiative, a year-long effort that raised an additional $35,419 in 2024 for local food programs.
Nationwide, Make Happy Tummies aims to raise $4 million in 2025, which would provide over 2 million breakfasts to more than 3,000 breakfast programs from coast to coast. With the continued generosity of customers and community members, this goal is well within reach.
Thanks to Vince’s customers and their team, the independent grocer is making a positive difference—one breakfast at a time. Because when kids are nourished, they can focus, learn, and thrive.
