Vince’s President Honoured with King’s Coronation Medal
Vince’s has always believed in supporting local, giving back, and setting the bar high—both in the community and the grocery industry. We’re small, but we punch above our weight! And when that dedication earns national recognition, it’s something worth celebrating.
On March 4, Vince’s president Giancarlo Trimarchi received the King Charles III Coronation Medal—an honour that recognizes individuals who’ve made a significant contribution to Canada and their communities. Giancarlo was among seven final recipients recognized in the second ceremony, following an earlier event in December that honoured 20 others.
Leading the Independent Grocery Sector
Giancarlo’s contributions extend beyond the aisles of Vince’s Market. As former Chair of the Canadian Federation of Independent Grocers, he has played a pivotal role in shaping industry standards. His work on the Canadian Grocery Code of Conduct has helped ensure fairness and sustainability in the sector.
His leadership hasn’t gone unnoticed. In recent years, he has earned:
- The 2022 CIGBA/DCI Industry Award for Social Responsibility
- The 2023 Newmarket Chamber of Commerce Business Leader of the Year Award
But if you ask Giancarlo, he’ll tell you it’s not about the awards, it’s about giving back.
A Commitment to Community
At Vince’s, we believe a business should be more than just a place to shop. Through our Community Product Initiative, we’ve raised more than $175,000 since 2018 to support vital local organizations. On top of that, we allocate a significant yearly budget to grassroots initiatives that make a positive difference in the communities we serve.

A Well-Deserved Honour
The King Charles III Coronation Medal is more than just a piece of metal—it’s a symbol of dedication and service. Designed by the Canadian Heraldic Authority and approved by His Majesty the King, it features the Royal Cypher and is attached to a ribbon inspired by the 1902 King Edward VII Coronation Medal.
