SHARON, ON, June 28, 2022: Vince’s takes very seriously the mental health challenges that affect so many Canadians – in particular young Canadians. Even before the pandemic, Canadian youth were experiencing a mental health crisis, marked by high rates of depression, eating disorders, suicide, and obstacles in accessing youth-specific mental health services. This is why we have partnered with the Canadian Mental Health Association, York and South Simcoe to raise much-needed funds to support MOBYSS (Mobile York South Simcoe), Ontario’s first and only, mobile walk-in health clinic for youth aged 12-25 years.
To help build awareness within our community about this unique and lifesaving service, Vince’s is hosting a fundraising barbecue on July 8 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Vince’s Sharon store. Hotdogs, sausages, and a variety of beverages will be served from 11-2, and we will be welcoming donations of any amount.
Representatives from the CMHA will also be on hand to discuss youth mental health and the MOBYSS service, which is free of charge, anonymous, and doesn’t require a health card. The MOBYSS bus will also be on site, and youth are welcome to connect with MOBYSS team members.
