The holidays are usually a time to surround yourself with friends and loved ones – a time to make merry and toast the bounty of the season. Unfortunately, the emergence of a new COVID-19 variant has forced us all to backtrack, curtailing many of our plans at a time when things were just starting to return to normalcy.
Indeed, our celebrations will probably look different than we imagined just a few short weeks ago. But I am thankful that even if these are smaller in scale, they can be just as festive and as full of good cheer. Which includes enjoying delicious meals that bring us together.
I’d like to wish you, our customers, the very best this season has to offer. We thank you for the trust you have placed in Vince’s throughout the pandemic, and for giving us the opportunity to serve you with the fresh foods and other essentials you depend on. I am proud of the way our Team has been able to adapt and pivot, embracing safety precautions without sacrificing the thoughtful service and small-town friendliness that makes Vince’s a special place to shop.
Many individuals and families have been struggling – as a result of COVID-19 and for other reasons. We are privileged to be able to lend a hand to those in need, whether it be through initiatives like Project Smile for Seniors, support for the Cedar Centre, Inn from the Cold, and Toonies for Tummies, or through our Community Product Initiative, which has raised well in excess of $60,000, to date. We will soon make an announcement on the success of our 2021 campaign for the Southlake Regional Health Centre Mental Health Program.
Indeed, grocery stores play an important role in the community, and have become an essential service. Regardless of the changes we have all had to make in how we live, learn, and earn a living, we must all feed our families. And with the steps we’ve taken to protect our Team and our customers, we are honoured to continue with this responsibility.
Vince’s is open today, the 24th, for any last-minute items you may need, but we are closed Christmas and Boxing Day. In the meantime, may your holidays be filled with peace and joy. We are grateful for your continued support!
