“You like me, you really like me!”
I may have slightly misquoted Sally Field from her 1984 Oscar win, but this sentiment sums up how we feel about getting the nod as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies – two years in a row!
Canada’s Best Managed Companies 2018
For those of you unfamiliar with the designation, “Canada’s Best Managed” has been around now for 25 years, and continues to recognize excellence in private Canadian-owned companies. Hundreds of businesses vie for this honour, through a rigorous process that measures the calibre of management, along with performance, sustained growth, and the efforts of the entire organization.
It’s a big deal, and making the list means you’re in good company.
“I’m thrilled that we’ve been honoured again with this award,” said Giancarlo Trimarchi, Vince’s partner, CFO and Controller. “It is validation that the efforts of our Team – and our growth plans – measure up to some of the top businesses across the country.”
Giancarlo, along with his father Carmen Trimarchi (Vince’s President and CEO), and Brian Johns, Chief Operating Officer, have transformed what was once a small roadside fruit and vegetable stand in Sharon, to a small chain of community-oriented grocery stores.
Which, of course, are still small in footprint compared to some of the grocery juggernauts. But our compact size is our strength; with a well curated selection of grocery and specialty items, alongside strong meat, deli, and dairy departments – and an outstanding produce section.
I still hear time and time again, from friends and neighbours, how they “started coming here for the fresh fruits and vegetables.”
Metroland Readers’ Choice Awards: Best Fruit & Vegetable, #1 Grocery Store, Top Deli!
As much as we’re tickled pink about being named nationally, we’re also proud of our local recognition – in particular, the recent Metroland Readers’ Choice Awards that honoured us with first place (for the 22nd consecutive year) in the Best Fresh Fruit and Vegetable category, not to mention number one grocery store and top deli, to name a few!
There may be more eyes and more glamour accompanying the entertainment industry’s drawn-out awards season. But we’re no less proud of our achievements.
And I promise, we won’t bore you with any long-winded acceptance speeches!
Thank you, our communities, for supporting us.
